Poll of The Week
🏋️♂️How Often Are You Really Moving?
We talk a lot about staying active — walking paths, softball, golf, rec centers, gym classes. But let’s get real for a second. In an average week, how often are you actually exercising on purpose? Not counting grocery shopping. 😉
How many days a week do you exercise? |

🌿 Villages Walk of the Week
Lake Miona Pathway
📍 1526 Buena Vista Blvd
This is a quiet, easy loop right around Lake Miona Recreation Center — smooth pavement, open sky, and just enough water peeking through to keep it scenic without being crowded.
It’s not a giant lake-view showcase — but you do get pleasant shoreline glimpses, mature trees, and wide, well-maintained paths that make it perfect for steady laps.
🚶 Flat, paved, easy on the joints
🌿 Peaceful rec center setting
🔁 Great for repeat loops to build distance
Want to stretch it longer? Add the nearby Black Lake trail and turn it into a solid multi-mile morning walk. Simple. Accessible. Reliable.

Villages Development News
South End Growth: Mustang & Pullman Rec Centers on the Way
Development keeps rolling in the south end. The upcoming Mustang Recreation Center near Eastport and Marsh Bend Trail is now under construction, themed around wild horses with rustic barn-style design. When it opens (targeted Fall 2026), expect pickleball and tennis courts, a family pool, outdoor games, meeting rooms, and plenty of gathering space.
Next up is Pullman Recreation Center, planned with a classic railroad dining car theme inspired by 1800s train travel. Details are still limited, but it’s expected to bring another distinctive, story-driven design to the growing Eastport corridor.
Bottom line: The rec center expansion around Eastport isn’t slowing down. Watch the video here.

Prevent Falls Without Giving Up Independence
If you want to stay active, confident, and on your own two feet — you’ve got to train for balance, not just hope for it.
🏋️ Build leg strength. Strong quads and glutes are your shock absorbers. Simple chair squats and step-ups make everyday movements safer. Chair Squats, Step-Ups
🧘 Train balance daily. Heel-to-toe walks and single-leg stands retrain stability in just minutes a day. Heel-to-Toe Walk, Single-Leg Stand
💡 Fall-proof your environment. Bright lighting, secure rugs, supportive shoes, and grab bars in key spots prevent more falls than any exercise ever will.
You don’t need to move less to stay safe. You need to move better — so you can keep living independently on your terms.
