Plus: Weekend events, Local Live Music, Water Filter Deal

Good Morning, Villages. Ever haggled your way through a water filter sales pitch and felt like you needed a shower after? We’ve got the fix—and it’s local, honest, and comes with reader-loved reviews. Plus: your area’s been roasted (don’t worry, all in good fun), and we’re tracking new growth past Middleton. On this day in 1969 – Apollo 11 splashed down in the Pacific, safely returning the first men to walk on the Moon: Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins.

Let’s dive in.

💧 Clean Water, No Sales Games 💧

Ever had a company come “test your water” and quote you $9,000 for a water filter system—then drop it to $2,500… then text you a “final offer” of $1,600? I have. That kind of shady pricing is way too common. And it put me off getting one for two years. Not any more!

In our Water Filter Poll, dozens of Villages Pulse readers said they already have a Nova Filters whole house water filter system—and they love it. So I reached out to Brad Novak, owner of Nova Filters—a Wildwood based, family‑owned, veteran‑owned, Villager-owned company. Unlike most, they list their price online—$695 installed for a three-stage whole-house system. No gimmicks. No upsells. Just clean, great-tasting water from every tap. I checked 10 other companies. Not one of them shares their price online!

Now you can get it too, at $24 off, exclusively for Villages Pulse readers, with Free Professional Installation.

How To Get The Deal?

👉 Call or text the owner, Brad Novak at (352) 661-0997 and mention “Villages Pulse” or call their main office number at (352) 566-2649 and mention “Villages Pulse”. You can also email them at [email protected]. Check them out at 🖱️ novafilters.com.

Check out their video on Youtube to see how great their system is in action.

📊 Poll Recap: Where Do You Live in The Villages?

We had 564 votes in Monday’s poll—and it’s a tight race! Leading the pack is Newbieville (south of the Turnpike) with 26%, followed by Plaza Patrol (between 466 & 466A) at 25%, and the Old Guard (north of 466) at 22%. Signville (466A–44) and Cone Zone (44–Turnpike) rounded out the list with 15% and 12% respectively.

One reader summed it up best: “We may live in different areas, but we all love The Villages lifestyle!” Thanks to everyone who voted—you’re what makes this place feel like one big, quirky, golf-cart-loving family.

This poll got me to thinking, what would ChatGPT say about each area if I asked it to roast them? See below for the results! 😆

Villages Area ChatGPT Roast

North of 466 (Old Guard)
You were here before GPS worked in The Villages and still don’t trust anything past 466. Your house has seen three hurricanes, five mayors, and the birth of the Margarita machine boom.

Between 466 and 466A (Plaza Patrol)
You’re the middle child of The Villages—constantly overlooked, but weirdly obsessed with enforcing mailbox uniformity. Your biggest fear? Someone parking on the wrong side of the street during trash day.

Between 466A and 44 (Signville)
You moved in thinking it was “done being built”—bless your heart. Your morning walks are more construction tour than cardio, and your street still shows up as “planned” on Google Maps.

Between 44 and Turnpike (Cone Zone)
Living here means your welcome party was hosted by a cement mixer and a sweating guy named Julio. On the bright side, you'll be the first to test out next year’s pickleball courts.

South of the Turnpike (Newbieville)
Everything’s fresh: your landscaping, your water heater, and your complete inability to find your way to Spanish Springs. You call it “up-and-coming”—the rest of The Villages calls it “out there with the cows.”

That sound about right to you? Hit Reply and let me know what you think of these!
