🚶 Do You Walk Daily?

This one lit up the step counters. Out of 464 votes, 285 readers said Yes, 170 said No, and 9 picked Other, which means about six in ten of you are lacing up most days.

Daily walkers reported everything from 3–5 miles at sunrise to “minimum 6,000 steps,” mail runs that are three quarters of a mile uphill, and long loops with friends or dogs. Several bragged on our “incredible” Villages trails and said they get stir crazy if they miss a day. One reader has walked every single day since January 4, 2010 and is over 5,700 days into their streak.

Among the “No” crowd, a lot of you are still very active. Many mentioned golf, cardio drumming, pickleball, water volleyball, table tennis, the gym, or racking up steps at the squares and shows instead. Others would love to walk more but are dealing with surgeries or mobility issues or are still trying to build the habit.

Big picture: this is an on-the-move community. Whether it is miles on the paths, laps with the dog, or steps at Lake Sumter, your neighbors are out there.
