The Villages Drone Ban (part 2)

No Trespassing Signs Go Up

A quick follow-up on last Monday’s story about the Villages cracking down on drone operators filming construction sites. Signs have been placed around various construction sites indicating that drones, cameras or filming prohibited in these areas. The signs also quote the “applicable” statute. Of course drone operators, and armchair lawyers, are saying that this statute does not apply. Federal FAA laws apply to commercially licensed drone operators, and airspace above the villages construction sites are not restricted in any way. I’ll leave this to the real lawyers to decide!
